Team

Experience counts

From Rock to Opera, the team behind Electric Airshows grew up in the entertainment industry.

With over 65 years combined experience from product launches to concert tours, we draw on this time-served experience to deliver unique solutions.

Chris Crockford

Accountable Officer

Chris Crockford is an instrument rated seaplane pilot. He holds a PhD in Geospatial Imaging systems, an MSc in Computer Networks and an MBA in Corporate Strategy. He has been flying drones for over 5 years and holds a GVC alongside his full pilot's licence.

He has designed events in a wide range of industries from Concert Tours to Product Launches and has worked on events around the globe.

Throughout the mid-90's Crockford worked as a consultant to Avolites Limited and had a hand in the development of the Pearl and Diamond control systems. In 2000 he was asked to develop the wireless control system for the London Eye.

Chris combines the art of technical innovation with creative design. Electric Airshows opens the skies to new immersive media.

Ian Lomas

Chief Pilot

Ian Lomas holds a full UK GVC drone pilot's license and is Electric Airshows Chief Pilot.

Using the lockdown periods of the COVID-19 pandemic to further his skillset, Ian quickly learnt to fly small domestic drones, before moving on to larger cargo drones and then onto Drone Swarm Operations.

Ian has over 35 years of entertainment industry experience and has worked as Lighting Crew Chief for many concert touring acts. He brings a blend of technical understanding, personnel management and event logistics experience to the company and blends the desire to push the technology boundaries with a grounding in event and operational risk management.

With access to the latest datasets Andrew is able to provide our clients with the most accurate space systems weather ensuring that their events run to plan.

He is a skilled Drone Pilot in his own right and operates to GVC standards. Andrew brings a technical skill that is rare in the entertainment industry, but significantly important to the Drone Light Show business.
